Amélie Anglade – IEEE Region 8 Student Branch Coordinator (Region 8 Student Activities Committee) amelie [dot] angladeatieee [dot] org

Amélie is a French PhD student in Music Information Retrieval at Queen Mary University of London, UK. She obtained both a Diplôme d’Ingénieur (French equivalent of Master degree) in Computer Science from ENSIIE (French Engineering School) in 2006 and a Master degree in Complex Adaptive Systems from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) in 2007.
She was part of the organising team of the Region 8 Student Branch and GOLD Congress (SBC) 2008 and is now Chair of the Queen Mary University of London IEEE Student Branch and member of the UK and Republic of Ireland Student Activities Committee. She has joined the Region 8 Student Activities Committee in January 2009 as Region 8 Student Branch Coordinator.

Joe Lillie received the BS in Electrical Engineering and MS in Telecommunications from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, USA. He has 36-years experience in telecommunications engineering and management. Joe was employed by BellSouth from 1973 to 2002, retiring as a member of the Louisiana BellSouth State Staff. In 2003 Joe joined NorthStar Communications Group where he served as the Director of Corporate Quality. In September 2005 Joe returned to BellSouth working on Hurricane Katrina restoration. Joe continues to provide engineering support to AT&T. During his professional career Joe has attended numerous training sessions on telephony, management, leadership contract administration, and quality management. Joe has been married to Debbie for 37 years. They have two children and five grandchildren.
Joe has been an active IEEE volunteer since joining as a student in 1972. He is currently a Senior Member serving his sixth year on the IEEE Board of Directors, two years each as Region 5 Director, Treasurer and Vice President - Member and Geographic Activities and is currently a candidate for IEEE President.

Joe Lillie will present "Leadership Skills in the IEEE." The presentation will identify and discuss various non technical skills that will assist the student IEEE members in their professional career.

Leandro Pereira is the Director of Business Unit Management Project of GTBC, graduated in IT Management from the University of Minho, with a final course of 18 values. Later carried out his PhD project in the area of Project Management at the prestigious Pontifical University of Salamanca Campus de Madrid (UPSAM) and presented a pioneering work of integrating the areas of Project Management with Knowledge Management by the technique of Earned Value Management. Leandro Pereira, is also Founder Director and Vice President of the PMI Portugal Chapter, as well as Founder President of Portugal IIBA Chapter. Throughout his undergraduate received 8 School Achievement Awards, among which are the University Senate Award for being the best student at the University of Minho, the Civil Government Award of Braga, for being the student with the highest final course of the entire University, and the Prize for Best Student of the School of Engineering of the same University. He also awarded the Diploma Supplement designed by UNESCO. Before entering higher education, received a 1994 National Award of Distinction: "Youth and National Defense", awarded by the Ministry of Defense.

Salomon A. Herrera received the BS in Computer Engineering from the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral University, Ecuador. He has 5-years experience in computer engineering and management. Salomon was employed by Software Engineering Department at ESPOL University from 2003 to 2005, retiring as a researcher. In 2006 Salomon joined Norlop Thompson Commpany where he served as System Analyst. In 2007 Salomon joined Profremar Company working on business process management. During his professional career Salomon has attended numerous training sessions on PMI, Data Mining, Datawarehouse, Balanced Score Card.
Salomon A. Herrera has been an active IEEE volunteer since joining as a student in 2003. He is currently a Member serving two years as R9 SAC Chair, two years as Ecuador TMC Chapter Chair, one year us Student Branch Chair and one year us Student Branch Chapter Chair.

Salomon A. Herrera will present "Student Branch Strategic Plan & Student Membership Development." The presentation will identify some opportunities to participate us IEEE Volunteer and some experiences in Region 9 about Student Membership Development.

João Figueiras received his Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, from the Technical University of Lisbon (IST-UTL), Portugal, in 2004. In 2008, he has received his PhD degree in Wireless Communications from Aalborg University, Denmark, where he has researched on positioning techniques for wireless communications. During his PhD degree, he worked in the Danish funded project Wireless Access Network Devices & Applications (WANDA), and the European funded project Wireless Hybrid Enhanced Mobile Radio Estimators (WHERE). He was a short term research visitor at the Electrical Engineering Dept. of UCLA, CA, USA and at the Mobile Team at Google Inc, Mountain View, USA. From April 2009, he has been working in several innovation project, some of which connected to major telecommunication companies in Portugal and abroad. From May 2009, he is employed by ZTE Portugal as the Terminal After-Sales Manager. Parallel to his professional activities, he has been an active member of IEEE, holding currently the position of Region 8 GOLD coordinator.

A.Gokhan Celebi -IEEE Student Branch Industry Relations; (ISBIR) Program Financial Coordinator

IEEE Responsibilities: I have taken so many responsibilities in IEEE Middle East Technical University (METU) Student Branch for four years.I Was active member, administrative board member and executive board member for IEEE METU. I am working acitvely in IEEE Student Branches Industry Relations (ISBIR) Program as Financial Director. Furthermore, I am an active member of IEEE R8 Professional Activities Sub-Committee (PASC)

It was not earlier than university, I met with IEEE. I started working voluntarily for IEEE by taking various kinds of responsibilities.In IEEE METU Student Branches with my colleagues, we organized kinds of activities.These covers many areas from Informatics in Education Projects to Career-focused events.Moreover,
I participated global activities of IEEE in Germany,India,Bahrain,Bosnia,Singapore, Canada, Italy and UK .That makes me to understand contribution to humanity, thinking and acting globally and enhancing the global prosperity are the firmly-held values of IEEE.Inspiring the world citizens and working actively as a volunteer to make world a better place to live and becoming a world citizen by hitting it off with world citizens are in the core of my world view. Now, by taking into consideration how mission and vision of IEEE and mine matches with each other, it is not that difficult to guess why I am in IEEE and keep being in it the future.
